The Series 7 Gamer features an optimized gaming mode, which turbo cools the CPU to keep it working at full speed for non-stop gaming action. The Windows key and touchpad can also be disabled using the Gaming mode settings to avoid accidental interruptions, and the main gaming keys are highlighted in red, so you play faster with fewer errors.
With the third-generation Intel Core i7 quad-core processor, you'll get excellent multitasking capabilities whether you're playing immersive 3D games or creating HD video. And Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0.1 increases speed automatically for whatever you're doing. CPUID was reading the RAM at 800 MHz, but in reality it is 800 MHz x 2, so the RAM in this laptop is actually 1600 MHz. Sweet! Thanks, Roy!EDIT 2: I'm currently playing Max Payne 3, and this machine handles it wonderfully. I'm running it in DX11, all settings on "Max" (pun intended ;-) ), with FSAA, HDAO, and 4x AA; at 1920 x 1080 I'm consistently hitting 30-40 FPS (V-Sync is off, because switching it on turns the frame rate into syrup-dipped glue). This is a huge relief since the original Recommended Specs from the publisher were ridiculously over the moon (hexacore processor, 3GB VRAM).
